Handmade elements of our wedding

So if you know Connell and I a little bit you know that we are all artsy and crafty. Connell is a fantastic artist as you can all see from the AMAZING artwork on your invites. I am OBSESSED with knitting and other crafts.

Its only fitting then that we are trying to incorporate many handmade things into the wedding. From the accessories we will be wearing, to the table decorations. From the decor, to the bonbonerie's, all will have a handmade element to it. If we are not hand making things ourselves then our friends and family are helping us out or we are buying things from other people who hand make beautiful things. I feel it is important to support local businesses as well, so where possible most things we have bought have been from Adelaide, or Australian vendors.

Our photos are here!!!!

James is amazing and gave us our engagement photos this morning. There were 106 of them!

Don't worry we wont put them all up here. But here is a little, or not so little, sample of our favorites.

Sorry i added so many. But this is just a small amount of the great photos. These are completely out of order as well. But its too hard to do it properly.

Engagement photo shoot wrap up

We had a great day today. It was pretty hot and crowded in the city but we still managed to last 3-4 hours before we were all ready to give up and go home (well not us we had stuff to do). Our photographer is James Field and he was great. very laid back and relaxed and knew what he was doing.

We started off at the Fringe festival. It just so happened that the postponed Fringe Parade was on today so we rushed over and got some photos in front of the dancing ladies. Then we went into the Garden of Unearthly Delights and wandered around and took photos from many different places, including the Double Decker Bus Bar and I got laced into a corcet at the stall of one of my friends, Quirky Stylin'.

After that we wandered down to the museum and the art gallery to take photos in front and behind, stopping along the way for some smoothies at the East Tce Continental cafe and for some cool photo ops at The Botanic (both places i have never been but must go back to)

All in all it was a great day and we are looking forward to getting some great photos as we don't have a lot of photos of us around the place. We are hoping to have some photos to share with you all in the next week or so.

engagement photo shoot!

Today Helena and I are taking our wedding photographer for a test drive, with an engagement photo shoot around Adelaide. It should be fun, and we can hopefully have some photos from it up here later.

Also, a reminder! Don't forget to RSVP for the wedding as soon as you can.

Getting out the invites

Hi everyone.

Connell and I are currently working on getting out all of your invites. I though I’d better update this page with some more information as well. I have added a link in the sidebar (I've always wanted to say that) to our Honeymoon Registry. Like it says your presence at our wedding is what we most want and we know that some of you are travelling quite a distance to help us celebrate and that’s what we really want.

But we have planed an awesome honeymoon in Fiji. We will be relaxing at a super luxurious resort on a lovely island that will provide us with many adventures, from walking through the rainforest to many waterfalls, through to snorkeling in the beautiful clear ocean and kayaking through the waves. It would be lovely if you could help to contribute to our first adventure as a married couple.

If you use the honeyfund website you don't actually pay any money to the website. All you are doing is telling us that is what you want to gift us. To use the website you choose the item, and the amounts of the items you want to give (e.g. you want to pay for us to have 3 cocktails) you click on the drop down menu and choose what ever multiple you like, you can also choose multiple items as well. You then hit "continue" down the bottom of the page and it will take you to the next screen that will tell you your gift selection and ask how you wish to pay for it. You can choose to pay for it via a cheque (sorry about the spelling on the site, its American) that you can post (or bring to the wedding), cash that you can bring along to the wedding, or you can contact us to find out my direct deposit details. you will then be prompted to enter in a couple of details so we know who has gifted us. You will have now reserved the gift and you can print out a certificate to add to your gift to let us know what you bought.

Please let one of us know if you need any further clarification on the process of the website.

Thank you.
